Advanced EMR Training
Advanced training supports effective use of an
EMR.
When your clinic completes basic-initial training on a VCUR
2008 electronic medical record (EMR) solution and feels ready
to advance use, the Physician Office System Program (POSP) offers
financial support for additional training. POSP will reimburse
clinics/physicians for approved advanced EMR training courses,
offered by a qualified service provider (EMR vendor), up to a
maximum annual amount which is dependent on the size of the
clinic.
Please note WCB and third party billing courses are not eligible
for reimbursement as these are covered in basic training.
POSP recommends that clinics complete the EMR Outcomes
Self-Assessment available in POSP
Interactive Training & Tools before they begin advanced EMR
training to help identify clinic's learning needs and goals for
using their EMR.
To be eligible for reimbursement of advanced EMR training,
clinics must:
- Contact their EMR vendor to discuss training and receive a
quote for the desired courses; this quote will be copied to
POSP.
- Once the quote is approved, clinics will receive instructions
for reimbursement.
- Upon completion of advanced EMR training, clinics will be asked
to complete an on-line evaluation and a reimbursement form provided
by POSP.
