Vendor Conformance & Usability Requirements
The vendor conformance & usability requirements (VCUR)
describe:
- Minimum levels of mandated functionality for EMR solutions
- Mandated technical, interoperability, security, privacy and
other requirements.
The products that were tested and conform to VCUR are placed on
a list of acceptable vendors for the Physician Office System
Program (POSP).
Failure to adhere to the VCUR does not mean that a vendor's
product(s) cannot be marketed within Alberta. However, any
physician who purchases a product that does not conform to the
accepted VCUR will not be eligible for funding under POSP.
POSP recognizes that EMR solutions do not remain static after
achieving conformance, but there is a process that vendors must
follow to maintain VCUR if they make modifications to their
products.
