The Physician Office System Program (POSP) makes every reasonable effort to protect the security of your personal information and honour your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your information from misuse, unauthorized access and disclosure.

We do not provide personal information to unrelated third parties for any reason. We do share some data with affiliated organizations, such as the Canadian Medical Association and the Alberta Medical Association.

Please be aware there is some risk involved in transmitting information over the Internet regardless of our efforts.

POSP uses "cookies" for the security functionality on this website. Your browser settings must be configured to allow cookies if you wish to access the member-only pages.

When you attempt to access POSP-protected web pages, the web server checks for the "cookies" and, if they are not available, displays the login page. The login process creates two small text files ("cookies") on your hard drive. These "cookies" contain your name (for the home page greeting) and identification number (to allow access to your personal profile). These "cookies" also allow you appropriate access to the POSP website and components thereof.

The "cookies" cannot be executed as code nor deliver viruses and are valid for a limited period of time. In other words, the "cookie" will expire if you do not access any additional web pages for more than one hour or if you use the sign-out feature on the home page.

POSP does collect information in log files on its server.
