Protect the Flow of your POSP Funds
Attention: POSP Physicians and Clinic
Managers
POSP needs to know… Are you relocating? Retiring? Going on
Maternity Leave? To ensure POSP funding is not interrupted,
physicians are reminded they must notify the POSP program office of
any change in their work location or working
circumstances-including a move to a new clinic, retirement,
maternity or sick leave, sabbatical or simply an address or email
change. POSP funds are tied to individual physicians. An unreported
clinic relocation or other work change can affect the flow of
program funds to the right physician, eliminating locum funding and
forcing repayment issues and delays to correct the change.
There are three ways to notify POSP about a change:
Visit www.posp.ca, fill out a POSP Change Form and fax it to the
POSP Operations Administrator at 780.452.1869
Call 1.866.817.3875
Email POSP
Any physician who makes a change in their work circumstance are to
update their information with POSP when the change occurs. This
will ensure all contact information is accurate and that all
changes in physicians' work circumstances are captured by POSP. The
obligation for physicians to inform POSP of any change is outlined
in the POSP Service Agreement and Letter of Agreement which states:
"the participant shall notify POSP of any changes in circumstances
that would materially affect enrolment in the program (e.g.,
relocation of practice, sabbatical, leaving the province,
retirement, maternity/disability leaves, inability to maintain
outcomes, etc)."
Please be aware that changes to your work location or
circumstances may also trigger a requirement for a new Privacy
Impact Assessment, or the start of Bridge Funding for clinics
recruiting physician replacement. POSP relies on accurate contact
information to keep physicians informed about the program. As
tracking physician movement can be difficult, POSP Operations
appreciates your quick response to this important administrative
notice.
