College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta Revises its Patient Record Standard of Practice
August 3, 2011
The College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta
(CPSA) consider electronic medical records (EMRs) a valuable
tool in the management of patient care. CPSA supports the use
of EMRs because these tools can streamline and
secure the management of patient information while
helping physicians provide enhanced patient
care through rapid and efficient access to critical
health information.
EMRs must also be managed appropriately, and CPSA recently
revised its Patient Records Standard of Practice (Standard 21) to
help physicians manage their EMRs.
For more information, download the CPSA EMR
Fact Sheet and the CPSA EMR Poster.
