Eligibility

The Physician Office System Program (POSP) uses the following general guidelines to determine eligibility for POSP funding. Physicians may contact change management to ask about their specific situation and eligibility.

  • The physician must be in good standing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta.
  • The physician must provide insured services within the province of Alberta.
  • The physician must complete required POSP documentation including but not limited to:
    • POSP Application Form
    • POSP Direct Deposit Information Form
    • POSP Physician Participation Agreement
    • POSP Documentation Waiver
    • POSP Change Request Form (as required when any change in enrolment information occurs)
  • The physician must have a valid privacy impact assessment.
  • The physician must meet usage and benefit measurement requirements.
  • The physician is required to participate in periodic review meetings.
  • "Double dipping" is not allowed. That is, the total amount of public funding physicians receive for their electronic medical record (EMR) solution, including funding from POSP, may not exceed 100% of the total cost of the EMR solution.
