Eligibility & Guidelines

The Physician Office System Program (POSP) uses the following general guidelines to determine eligibility for POSP funding. Physicians may contact POSP's Change Management Services to ask about their specific situation and eligibility.

  • The physician must be in good standing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta.
  • The physician must provide insured services within the province of Alberta.
  • The physician must complete required POSP documentation including but not limited to:
    • POSP Application Form
    • POSP Enrolment Form
    • POSP Physician Participation Agreement
    • POSP Change Form (as required when any change in enrolment information occurs)
  • The physician must use or agree to transition to a VCUR 2008 product.
  • The physician must have an accepted Privacy Impact Assessment.
  • The physician is required to meet current usage outcomes.
  • The physician is required to participate in periodic review meetings.
  • "Double dipping" is not allowed. That is, a physician may not receive benefits from funding or support for the physician office system from any other source.
